2-Dongtan Urim Norwegian Forest | Oslo Avenue(Mixed Use)

The Gran Park Avenue is a business complex located adjacent to a 325,300 m² ecological park. It is a unique location with two sides facing the park, as there is a linear park extending from the park on the west side of the site to the east. The transportation infrastructure is well-equipped, with a linear park, a central commercial area, and Dongtan Station, a metropolitan high-speed rail station, located to the west. The first thing that stands out is the natural green space adjacent to the complex. The park established in this area is the largest in the southern Gyeonggi region, exceeding the project site's size by more than 20 times.

The primary concern of this project was establishing a connection between the park and its visitors. To create a sense of familiarity, symbolic exterior elements were incorporated, resulting in the current design of the Arc de Triomphe. The large pillars, which were exposed due to the architectural structure, were utilized in the creation of this iconic structure. The Arc de Triomphe is a three-story structure designed to address the exterior's shortcomings due to its structure. It is easily visible from afar, allowing park users to determine their direction. Additionally, it adds character to the exterior design of nearby and distant buildings.

The exterior design style is a modern classic with an arched structure. The tone-on-tone colour scheme of the materials creates a sense of mass and unity. Pedestrians entering the complex from the park naturally move to each residential building through the central plaza or pass through the complex. The central plaza features stairs, escalators, and elevators that eliminate the level difference between the sites, allowing people to stay or move selectively. Signage was planned from the entrance to the inside of the complex to ensure easy recognition for pedestrians passing by.

This mixed-use facility, comprising apartments, offices, officetels, and low-rise shopping malls, is located adjacent to natural green space. The advantage of this location is that residents can experience nature both indoors and outdoors during their daily lives and work. It is hoped that Gran Park Avenue will be connected to the ecological park, allowing nearby residents and users to feel closer to nature.
